About Us

Opticians at  Work is the Corporate Division of Opticians at Home Limited - an Independent Opticians based in Consett, County Durham.

We are passionate about Eye Health and were shocked to find that many people in the workplace today have not had an Eye Test since leaving school- for some that meant 10 to 15 years ago.

We want to make Eye Tests easy and accessible to everyone.

We know that some staff don't have their own Optician. We know that often there just isn't enough time to book an Eye Test -let alone leave work in the middle of the day, find parking, wait for the test and then have to repeat the whole exercise again to collect their spectacles and probably again to have them adjusted a week later.We also felt that if staff had to have their Eye Exams on their own time, that it would probably be put off  and problems leading to blindness like Glaucoma would go undetected.

With experiance in Domiciliary Eye Care gained from our parent Company, Opticians at Home, it was decided to apply the same advances in portable Eye Testing Technology to the Work Place.

Eye testing on site only requires a small room- we bring everything with us- and your staff can be back at their desks in about 20 minutes- content in the knowledge that their employer cares about their most important sense.
